Routine maintenance: In its operating and maintenance manuals, TGE clearly specifies the maintenance work that users must carry out to keep the equipment operating efficiently. Through appropriate risk assessments, TGE has established the correct routine maintenance procedures to be performed at defined intervals, including the replacement of components that are essential to the equipment. These measures, together with recommendations for proper use and cleaning, help prevent or minimise unexpected problems and downtime caused by failures.
Extraordinary maintenance: This includes all maintenance work that does not fall within the scope of routine maintenance.
Routine and extraordinary maintenance on equipment manufactured by TGE is carried out directly by experienced TGE technicians or by specialised personnel authorised to operate after completing a dedicated certification course provided by TGE.
To optimise its organisation and ensure transparency with its customers, TGE establishes maintenance contracts:
- with a routine maintenance programme that must be followed;
- with a defined maximum response time in the event of an emergency.
What we recommend companies do for their equipment and machinery:
- Verify that the manufacturer’s declaration of conformity and the operating and maintenance manual are available for every piece of equipment and machinery. Where equipment is too old and no documentation is available, it is essential to contact a consultant to verify that the equipment complies with safety requirements and to prepare an operating and maintenance manual;
- schedule routine and extraordinary maintenance;
- formally record in writing all routine and extraordinary maintenance work carried out, in order to ensure full traceability of the maintenance performed.
