Preventive maintenance: great results with just a few steps
According to an IndustryWeek report, unplanned downtime costs industrial manufacturers an estimated $50 billion annually. Equipment failure is behind 42% of this unplanned downtime. The need for an effective maintenance regime cannot therefore be disputed.
Production engineers want to increase machine reliability by minimizing the possibility of costly and destabilizing downtimes: adequate planning is the real ally to anticipate problems and delays.
Maintenance and safety of our equipment
TGE, with its experience in the sector of plants and equipment for the production and mixing of pure, technical and medical gases, wants to highlight its strength not only in the manufacture of its equipment but above all in the guarantee of efficiency and durability over time thanks to post- sale.
TGE distinguishes two macro-categories: ordinary maintenance and extraordinary maintenance.
Ordinary maintenance: TGE clearly indicates, in the use and maintenance manuals, which maintenance interventions the user must carry out to keep the equipment efficient. TGE, with appropriate risk analysis, has defined the right and correct ordinary maintenance at certain deadlines with the replacement of vital components for the equipment. These interventions, with recommendations on the correct use and cleaning of the equipment, make it possible to anticipate or minimize unforeseen problems and downtime due to breakdowns.
Extraordinary maintenance: are those that do not fall under ordinary maintenance.
Ordinary and extraordinary maintenance on the equipment we manufacture is carried out directly by expert technicians of TGE or by specialized personnel, authorized to operate following a special qualifying course conducted by TGE itself.
To optimize its organization and for clarity with its customers, TGE establishes maintenance contracts
- with an ordinary maintenance program which must be adhered to
- with the definition of a maximum time to intervene in case of emergency
What we recommend to a company for its equipment and machinery
- check that the manufacturer's declaration of conformity and the use and maintenance booklet are present for each piece of equipment and machinery. If the equipment is too old and undocumented, it will be essential to contact a consultant to verify that the equipment complies with the safety requirements and to draw up a use and maintenance manual;
- schedule ordinary and extraordinary maintenance.
- formalize in writing the maintenance interventions carried out, both ordinary and extraordinary, in order to have traceability of the maintenance carried out.
