The system addresses the need to signal alarms relating to technical and pure gas storage/distribution systems. The SDAM D10 control unit interfaces with 10 contact-type pressure switches/vacuum switches. The unit displays alarms, statuses and measurements; when an alarm occurs, it activates audible and visual signalling. The operator acknowledges alarms using the silence button. The control unit can be connected via a local network (RS 485) to one or more SDAMGUARD units or PCs for centralised monitoring at a staffed workstation; up to 253 control units can be connected on the same network. The control unit is programmed via PC, allowing the user to set the output relay function, zone identifier and digital or analogue input parameters, including the identification string, contact type (for digital inputs), measurement range and alarm thresholds (for analogue inputs), and alarm priority.

The SDAM D10 unit supports the following functions:
Alarm signalling or status monitoring for 10 electrical-contact sensors, such as pressure switches and vacuum switches.
Display of alarms and statuses, with identification of the relevant sensor, on a 2-line x 20-character backlit alphanumeric display.
Alarm status indication by flashing light (red LED = High priority, yellow LED = Medium priority) and activation of an audible warning device, with programmable reset time.
Audible warning device mute button on the front panel.
PC programming of: input identification strings, contact operation (N.O. or N.C.), configuration of inputs as alarms or statuses, Medium/High alarm priority, alarm activation delay, classification of alarms as
Clinical or Operational, and audible alarm reset time.
Electrical contact output with cumulative alarm or auxiliary siren control function.
SDAMNET local network interface.
